Configuring MyChat Client on a terminal server
Usually both MyChat Server and MyChat Client are installed on a terminal server.
What you have to do to run MyChat Client correctly on a Windows terminal server
- Install and launch MyChat Server.
- Install MyChat Client to the C:\Program Files\MyChat Client\ (or to C:\Program Files (x86)\MyChat Client\ folder on Windows 64-bit system). It is necessary, because all users must be able to run the same MyChat Client copy.
- You can run the same MyChat Client to all users manually or from Autorun. All the data stores in every personal user profile, in the C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\MyChat Client\ folder and won't interfere with each other.
- Check, that in the MyChat Client settings, in the "Files" section, "Ports to transfer files", the "Random, from range" item is chosen. It is necessary for the clients to transfer files directly with each other and do not share the same port numbers being on the one physical server.
You can use both normal and domain authorization. You can also use the /auto command line key for MyChat Client. Take name from Windows logon name, and the address and port for connection — from the command line, and you don't have to make initial registration and set up server address connection.
Example of the BAT file
start /D "C:\Program Files (x86)\MyChat Client\" mcclient.exe /auto -server "192.168.1.50" -randompassword
