MyChat Client update from MyChat Server
After MyChat Server update is complete, all MyChat Clients for Windows will start updating automatically.
MyChat Client updating process
- MyChat Client connects to the server and "sees" that the version of the server is older than its own and disconnects from the server.
- MyChat Client downloads the update file from your MyChat Server over http(s). This file is "built-in" in MyChat Server. You do not need to download anything else.
- MyChat launches the updating process, updates itself and restarts.
- Updated MyChat Client connects to your server.
What to do if the automatic update does not work?
- Make sure that MyChat Client of a user is installed to a Windows user profile folder: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\NSS\MyChat Client\
If the chat is installed to another folder or in Program Files, make sure that a Windows user has the right for installing software; check if UAC is off.
- Check if a user has access to MyChat Server via http(s). Open the address of your MyChat Server in a browser. If there is no access, perhaps the firewall blocked it on your server.
- If you use transparent domain authorization, but the application is installed in Windows user profile (C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\NSS\MyChat Client\) and not in Program Files, then open MyChat Client settings, section "Updates" and enable the option "When working in the Active Directory, it is mandatory to update through MyChat Server".
