Error #0003: you are already connected to the server

 

Error description

If a user is already connected to MyChat Server (online), and you try to connect to the server under the same account.

 

Problem solution

If you need to connect to the server from various places (work, home, remotely), an administrator can configure the server to let him automatically disconnect a user who is already connected to the server to let this user who connects from another physical place. The client application shuts down its work automatically on the previous place, and you will connect to the server.

 

The Second reason may be caused by unstable network work (for example, if you are disconnected from the server, or the chat is disconnected from the server due to emergency). However, the server has not yet seen that the client is off; it will disconnect the client forcibly after some time after noticing that the client stopped responding.

 

If during this period (a minute or two) the connection is restored and the chat client will try to connect to the server it returns the error saying that you are already connected. In fact, the phantom who is offline is connected but the server hasn't seen it yet. In this case you need to wait a minute and the server will automatically disconnect this phantom connection and you will be able to connect to the server again.

 

Usually, in a regular mode, everything is performed automatically and the error can be detected only in server/client connection logs.
